As I embarked on a big travel I knew one of the relationships I wanted to nurture the most was the one with my sketchbook.

Local poet jim bourey wrote this beautiful poem as an ode to the mural I painted in Malone, USA. Feeling incredibly grateful for the interchange of artistic mediums and for work that is meaningful and appreciated.

In February, I spent a few weeks in the magical island of Chacahua, in the pacific Oaxaca coast. I attempted to learn how to surf, bathed in its magical warm waters, made friends and bonfires on the beach. I also made this mural in exchange for a room and a surfboard.

Ok, I know we’ve been in the new year for a while, but I haven’t been very in touch with the movement of the seasons. So, without further ado, and a bit of delay, here is a quick look at what the last year looked like for me in terms of art creation.

“Ixchel y sus Serpientes Lunares” is a 20 meter long by 5 meter high wall in the front of the house in Casa Pronoia, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

I made this while traveling in Mexico, in Galeria Codigo Tonal, in Oaxaca. It is a relief print made with the oaxacan technique, using wood and fire and a lot of strength. Made in two days, while drinking mezcal (always recommended while using sharp objects), chatting and running out of the building due to an earthquake.

At the start of the new year, I made a rush decision to pack my bags and go to the UK. Over the course a week I spent about 50 hours planning, researching, designing, sketching and painting the downstairs wall of the Cornish Bank.

An ode to the magical routinely plants that surround us and that usually go unnoticed by those who don’t recognise their powers, whose healing properties have been know and carried down by our ancestors for generations.

On June 2022, I went to Barcelona, Spain. Since 2012 I have been going there more or less regularly, to visit friends, lovers, to dance, to roam in the dirty streets and indulge in the energy of this city. I really love it there.

I think we have all become disenchanted with social media.
